15 minutes from Mérida, in Suytunchen, the Ak K`aax Ecopark is located, a 12-hectare ecological reserve that preserves part of the lowland jungle that characterizes the south of the country. It was this scenario that welcomed more than 70 fifth-year boys and girls from the Libertad Menéndez Primary School, in a new edition of the Eco Days organized by the LTH company.
At 8:30 in the morning the activity began France Mobile Number List with a tour of the park's trails, where attendees were able to recognize the most dangerous predator on the planet: humans. This reflection was supported by the screening of an educational video about climate change. After these initiatives, the boys and girls were able to debate and understand the importance of taking care of the environment.
“I think this is all very good. We learned a little more about nature and the importance of not contaminating planet Earth so that we can continue living,” said Santiago Aguirre, fifth-year student. Meanwhile, Paula Betancourt, also attending the event, pointed out that “everything we learned was very interesting, because we have to think that later when we have children, they should also live well and not as we are now.”
The boys and girls also had the opportunity to play and get to know this jungle space, founded and protected by Manuel D'Argence, who added that "in school there are not many elements that teach children to build an environmental culture and if not "We support this task, we are going to form adults who are hostile to the Planet."
After the talks and games, the attendees took part in a workshop, supported by the LTH brand, in which they planted a cutting of a tree so that they could take care of it, watch it grow and with this, give the Planet a break. “This day was one of the nice ones, the boys left very happy. We were able to plant in their hearts the seed of caring for the environment, with the commitment that they are responsible for the little plant they took so that little by little they become aware,” Gabriela Guadarrama, Unesco Preservamb Club Coordinator in Mérida.
The Eco Days, supported by LTH, have been taking place in Mérida since 2017, benefiting more than 20 thousand children. Meanwhile, at the national level more than 650 thousand boys and girls are impacted. This initiative is part of the company's commitment to being a socially responsible company, providing environmental education and reinforcing preservation values throughout the country.
